ENERGY EFFICIENT PALILULA IN `EARTH HOUR`

Our fellow neighbors from Palilula, Let us join the biggest global campaign for energy saving - EARTH HOUR. Let us turn off the lights for one hour in our homes, business buildings, schools, monuments on Saturday March 23 2013 from 20 30 to 21 30. The aim of this planetary activity, that has maintained here in our region for the last five years, is the raising awareness of our people about the energy efficiency and bad results of climate changes-emphasizes in his message Boban Dzunic, president of Nis Palilula Municipality.Positive influence to climate changes cannot be started without changing the behavior of ourselves- individuals without farewell to our old habits and adoption of new ones– says Palilila president. Changes of our value system, way of thinking and attitudes are unique and only way for prevention of further negative influences to the climate.

With standard raising, the spending of heat energy increases, and therefore energy for cooling. Because of great spending of energy in buildings and in the same time biggest potential of energy and ecological savings, energy efficiency and sustainable construction today become the priorities of modern architecture and energetic sphere. This area is recognizable as the region with the biggest potential for reduction of total energy spending. We in Palilula Municipality recognized that and with project realization about `energy efficiency in construction` practically are realizing the determined aims – emphasizes Boban Dzunic.

Central activity of the campaign Earth Hour in Nis will be on Sunday at 20 00 in St Sava Park. Many groups and individuals will take part.

According to the words of Duska Dimovic, manager of WWF programme- World fund for Nature in Serbia since 2008, the action expanded to more than 7000 cities and places in 152 countries with hundreds of million of participants on all the seven continents. Last year, the absolute champion in the action Earth Hour was Canada, where 10 to 15 percent was reached in relation to usual spending days. This year also in our country will be for the first time measured how much energy will be and could be saved.

The support to the action gave also the Ministry of energy, Ministry of natural resources, mining and spatial planning, City of Nis and City Municipalities, organizations of civil societies, Media ecological net of Serbia-EKOpolis, Aarchus center. Join us to step together into energy efficient society in `Earth Hour`.

On Sunday March 23 at 20 30, let us turn off the lights, save energy, save our planet!
